Dr. David V. & Julie D. Berkowitz

Dave Berkowitz grew up in New Jersey and his parents were both invested in education. His mother was a music teacher who loved to share her love of music and performing, and his father was at one time the president of the New Jersey State Board of Education. These responsibilities were in addition to running their 100-acre family farm. Dave and Julie’s children were always aware of their grandparents’ devotion to academics. Therefore, when it was time to honor their dad on the occasion of his retirement in 2016, they established this scholarship that serves as a testament to their appreciation for their Elder experience. Dave and Julie are both honored and grateful to continue to support an institution that has played such an important part in their lives.
