William E. Grove ’49 Memorial

William, Elder Class of 1949, was a hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was a proud Navy veteran, who served in the Korean War on the USS Wisconsin Battleship. He excelled as an auto mechanic and was a respected member of his field. The William E. Grove ’49 Memorial Scholarship was established in 2023 in honor of Elder High School’s 100th anniversary and to celebrate the legacy and life of William E. Grove. William greatly valued his Elder education and would be a proud mentor in spirit to anyone receiving this scholarship, particularly those overcoming life’s struggles and seeking value in their high school education.
