Ruth Herrmann Memorial

Ruth grew up in Lower Price Hill, the daughter of Jim and Genevieve Lyons. She was one of ten children, the two oldest (Jim and Jenny) of whom went to Elder and Seton. Finances were tight back then and the rest of the children went to Western Hills High School, so naturally she wasn't much of an Elder fan. That all changed when her oldest son Mike and youngest son Jake went to Elder. She attended almost all of Mike's golf matches and all of Jake's football games and became a big fan of Elder High School, because she greatly appreciated what Elder was giving her sons. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 54 and passed away 14 months later. She would be very proud of the fact that a scholarship in her name was helping others experience Elder.
