The Elder Band - the Spirit of Elder
The Elder High School Band receives numerous invitations to appear in parades and other civic functions. In recent out-of-state appearances, the Concert Band participated in the Virginia Beach Music Festival and received an “Excellent” rating, and the Steel Drum Band was awarded Silver in the PANorama Caribbean Music Fest in Virginia Beach. The Marching Band performed in Manhattan on Liberty Island during their trip to New York City, performed in the “Magic Kingdom Electrical Parade” in Disney World, and more recently, received 2nd place out of 35 bands in the “Krewe of Tucks” Mardi Gras Parade in New Orleans.
