Volunteering at Elder

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Elder High School. We are not only thankful, but honored that, with the help of our volunteers, Elder remains a high school that leads young men to serve God and to pursue Altiora according to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

"Volunteering is at the very core of being a human. No one has made it through life without someone's help."

~ Heather French Henry

Elder High School complies with The Decree on Child Protection which is promulgated by the Archbishop of Cincinnati. Our fingerprinting policy includes manual fingerprinting for employees and electronic background checks for all employees and volunteers.

The process to become a volunteer at Elder High School:

  • All volunteers must have a Selection.com background check. Volunteers can execute their applications from home without having to drive anywhere.
  • All volunteers must attend a VIRTUS training class and complete the monthly "Protecting God's Children for Adults" bulletins.
  • All volunteers must understand the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's Decree on Child Protection.

To complete the background check and schedule a VIRTUS training class, all you need to do is go to www.virtusonline.org. Because the processes have been streamlined, you can schedule both on the same site. The one-time Selection.com electronic background check fee is $25.00. There is no fee for the VIRTUS training.

If you should have any questions or concerns, please contact our human resources manager, Susan Summers, at (513) 921-3476 or summerssm@elderhs.net.
