Facilities

The Pit
Elder’s football stadium, The Pit, is one of the premier high school football facilities in the country. Students and faculty began construction in 1930 and the 10,000-seat stadium was completed in December, 1947. In 2001, The Pit was featured in USA Today as one of the nation’s top ten places to watch a high school football game.

Elder's Memorial Fieldhouse
In the late 1970's the number of sports programs increased and the need arose for expanded athletic facilities. Plans were made for the Elder Memorial Fieldhouse, also known as The Pit. The 1,900-seat facility serves as a site for numerous events like the following: basketball games, convocations and all-school masses.

Panther Athletic Complex
The Butch Hubert Family Panther Athletic Complex or PAC is an off-campus, 60-acre site located within a mile of the school that provides Elder with one of the premier athletic facilities in the State of Ohio. This multi-sport complex houses competition and practice facilities for baseball, golf, soccer, tennis, and track & field, including the Jack Adam Baseball Stadium. The PAC is located at 1915 Quebec Rd. in Cincinnati. To get there from Elder, head east on Glenway. At the intersection of Glenway, Quebec and Warsaw, turn left or north on Quebec for .6 miles. The PAC is on the left. To park, follow the drive up the hill to the lots.

The Gym
The Gym is part of the 1959 addition to Elder High School originally used for basketball. Now the gym houses Elder's wrestling and volleyball programs. Classes, assemblies, masses, and pep-rallies also take place in the gym.

The Donohoe Center
The Edward “Tank” Donohoe Center is a state-of-the-art fitness center. The facility is open to all students, faculty and staff. Used for the weight training, physical education and athletic programs, this part of campus rarely sleeps. The Donohoe Center is also home for the Elder Spirit Store as well as the athletic and training offices.
