The Purple Quill

Cincinnati's oldest running student newspaper, The Purple Quill is planned, written, and assembled by journalism students. The online version of The Purple Quill made its debut in 2012 and several Elder writers have been selected for inclusion in national publications of online high school newspapers. Students create content for the online Quill immediately to accommodate the fast pace of today’s immediate electronic news cycles. These “posts” include polls, slideshows, audio and video files to enhance the multimedia experience of our site visitors. The site is updated daily during the year, with most stories going live around the tenth of each month.

Our tried and true “good old newsprint” 16- page edition of The Purple Quill is still released nine times during the school year at the end of each month in a six section layout: News, Opinion, Sports, Feature, Arts and Entertainment, and Back Page and is anticipated by students, staff and alumni.
