In addition to our rigorous academic program, Elder provides a myriad of extracurricular opportunities that enable our students to explore their interests and cultivate their talents.
Our fine arts programs are designed to enhance individual expression and spark students’ imaginations. The Elder Art Department has a fine tradition of producing successful, innovative artists. Both the Elder Glee Club and the Elder Band have travelled the world entertaining crowds from Italy to Carnegie Hall and Disney World to New Orleans.
Numerous extra-curricular and enrichment experiences are available to develop the whole person. The opportunities for involvement are far from limited. Some students may choose to sharpen their scholastic skills by joining the Academic Team. Others may aspire to serve their peers and so serve as members of Student Government. Still others have a flair for writing which can be cultivated by joining the staff of the school’s newspaper, The Purple Quill. Additionally, the opportunity to have an impact on those outside the immediate Elder community is the aim of our Philanthropy Club, and many students have found fulfillment as members of this service organization. There are abundant opportunities for Elder students to develop as leaders, writers, musicians, athletes, and artists; one must merely be ready to challenge himself in order to unlock an entire world of extracurricular wonder.
